Electribe2 stand.

As a cheapskate I decided to try out some stands I already have and share the results with you.

First, the best stand I found in my storage room is a Kensington laptop stand. It has the best grip as there's soft rubber everywhere it won't slip on my slippery smooth table when smashing them pads. It can also be angled at 4 angles, or be used flat for a slight tilt. I found using it at a slight angle to be perfect to prevent neck pain. I use this on my desk/table.

For about the same price you can also get a ReLoop laptop stand. At its widest the e2 is still a bit too wide and the 2 outer leds are blocked by the frame but it sits very secure and the plus point of the ReLoop stand is that it also includes brackets for mounting on a table or flight case. The kit includes a pack of soft foam stickers so you can be sure your e2 is protected and sitting comfy. I've mounted mine on a rack so I can dance around and stand up whilst jamming In stand alone mode you can secure the legs with screws in your desk or table (if you wish).

The cheapest in my arsenal is an Ikea laptop stand. I normally use this one to angle my RM1x. The RM1x fits perfectly on it. It also has a lot of rubber on the edges so it won't slip away. The e2 fits on this too, but I rather use one of the above stands as they're more flexible. One of the benefits is that there's enough space underneath for power adapters or A4 sized manuals/papers. If you're on a budget a few of these can greatly tidy up any workspace. I also have this one, but it far too wobbly to put any instruments on really.

I'm interested in what you use to work more comfortable with the e2. Flat on a desk gave me too much neck cramp.

As soon as I receive my Electribe, I will be designing a stand similar to the one I designed for my Ableton Push. Unfortunately no one in Canada seems to have any ideas when they will get here.

The grip is so good that if I push the e2 forwards my table starts to slide before the stand does. It can be found cheap on sites like eBuyer.

I made one for a tb3 and then found it was okay for the E2 so made another.

I wont show them - very brutal - two pieces galvanised metal angle brackets from hardware store - they stand on their points.

Joined by two long chrome drawer handles - the machine rests its bottom edge on one handle - the other handle is underneath the structure just for further stability to stop the angle from spreading.

the points covered in gaff tape to stop gouging out desk.

probably more garage-style than loft-style. They wont break.

I use the same stand (in black) for a 25-key monosynth. Gives just enough tilt and is fairly sturdy for general use. Might have to pick up another for the electribe!
