RAM slots on Korg Kronos

Post by orangefunk »

I have just upgraded my Kronos with an extra SSD drive and also did the RAM upgrade at the same time.

I was suffering from the often touted SYSTEM failure error and noticed some posts about the SSD connections being wrong from the factory… when I switched over I still got the SYSTEM failure error but when I took the 1GB out of the slot it seemed to work.

My question is: As the RAM is not a matching pair (i.e. its 1GB and not 2GB), is there a specific slot in which to put the 1GB stick? I tried switching them around but no luck. Perhaps the RAM contacts are at fault..

The RAM stick I got was Hynix 1GB 6400U-666-12 fwiw.

CHEERS!

Hmm.. myabe I already found the answer…

I think the RAM I have is 666Mhz and the other stick is 800… so thats the culprit…

Damn…
