Which one? I'm in Nova Scotia, and they told me exactly the same thing... I shouldn't expect to see it until March. The Shipyards wrote:I just received my (pre-ordered) Kronos 2 (61 key) board from Long and McQuade today. I was pleasantly surprised as I wasn't expecting it for at least a month. It's a huge upgrade to my Ensoniq SD-1 which I've been using for the last 25 years. (Big learning curve though).

Re: Which one
Hi, it's the 61 key synth action version that I received. (i'm most comfortable with synth action keys). I ordered it before Xmas when I realized the Kronos 2 was about the same price as the "X" version which I'd been thinking of ordering. Long and McQuade actually called me in January to confirm my order as they didn't think I'd get it 'till April or so. I was VERY surprised when they called me yesterday to say it had arrived and would reach me today. They were surprised to!! Just glad I already had funds put aside for it in PayPal.

Sorry - When I said which one, I meant which Long & McQuade... Like which province are you in? lolThe Shipyards wrote:Hi, it's the 61 key synth action version that I received. Eye Sea... :)
Ontario...I ordered it through their websales department. It wasn't actually listed online at the time (still don't see any boards but the Krome ones online) so I called them to place the order.

Berlin Grand
Actually, one of the reasons I was attracted to the Kronos 2, was the Berlin Grand piano. I read someplace that it was modelled after a German Bechstein grand piano. I've got a turn of the century Bechstein upright that I inherited from one of my great aunts (Switzerland) back in the '80's. (I just had to pay for shipping to Canada). Can't say my ear is good enough to compare it to my Bechstein but at least it doesn't need tuning

Kronos 2 arrived
Yes, the Touchscreen is at an angle but not only that the whole cassis at an angle I mean all the buttons, etc. on the front are at an angle unlike the X which was pretty much flat if I remember correctly. For me it seems like the whole top piece is at a slight angle compared to X but its hard to compare as I do not have the X anymore. It seemed the was more flat on top. I have read where some people have bought an X61 and I bought a new K288 and only paid $200 dollars more in US. I did not say anything because I did not wanna start a situation but I would say if you are looking at a K2 call SA in ATL, GA if you are in US. I am just trying to help others in that if you are not careful you can pay as much for the X as a new one. I hope I am not offending anyone that is not the case just trying to help my fellow forum members. Have a great day
I'm in the UK and ordered a X61 in November. It was about three days before the news broke about the upcoming K2. So as you can imagine I was pretty gutted about that. However, when the X61 arrived it had a few problems, there seemed to be some loose parts inside and the keybed made an awful rattling noise. So I boxed it straight up and sent it back. The supplying dealer has a no-quibble return with 30 days for a full refund. So I did just that and at the same time pre-ordered the K2, which cost me about £200 more than the X61.
The main benefit for me is that I get the latest product with a 3 - year warranty.
