Just got a Wavedrum Silver

Hello everyone,
I just picked up a used Wavedrum Silver after spending a lot of time here reading about its possibilities. I'm very excited to see how this piece will fit into electronic and ambient music production.

I noticed there is a lot of interest in extending the microSD port to the outside of the wavedrum. Is it just possible to load in the Wavedrum Oriental or Global edition waveforms and firmware into my Silver or is the SD interest just for saving different loops?
