70s and 80s Classic Synth Patches

Post by Derek Cook »

Hi,

To give something back to this excellent community, here is a collection of classic synth patches that I have been working on since acquiring my Kronos in August.

I primarily have two projects on the go, Welsh Floyd and a 70s/80s (anything goes so long as it is good) thing. The patches posted here are mainly for the latter, although I threw in my "Shine On" lead patch into this.

All patches are "works in progress". I tend to go for the 80/20 rule for a lot of things in life: If I get 80% of the way there I am happy as a "starter for ten", and will work to refine things as time goes on and it's worth expending the extra effort if we do the songs often enough! :)

But hopefully the patches as they stand will be useful to people.

The organ sounds are very good but you know u have to hold the joystick up all time on some of the organ sounds for the leslie to work properly unless you did this for a specific reason. Not all sounds work like this some work right with the joystick. Just thought I would let u know if there was a way to correct this where the organ sounds work correct. You have to hold the joystick up for the organ to go fast and when u let off it it goes slow. Not complaining just thought u might have forgot to set the correct settings for leslie. Thanks for the sounds they are very good.

OK, something has gone wrong there as I thought I was just posting my AA and AB Program Banks. I've sent a corrected file to Korg Patches.

FYI, my organs are set up to be non latching as I use a pedal on my FC300 Foot Controller for Leslie speed switching, so I don't want them to be latching like they are on the joy stick by default as in most songs I have both hands on the keyboard, so no hands free to waggle the joystick.

I've downloaded both files. Both files have the same amount of Banks and sounds. Could someone explain me, why one file is 10,1 MB and one 1,2 MB???
Love and peace to everyone :-)

Hi
Thanks for the patches, I look forward very much to reviewing them

Is there a library listing of what is in the ZIP (As I cannot get to the studio until the weekend) and are the Patch names indicative of where the references for the sounds came from (Like "SHINE ON..." of course)

Cheers
Guy
