Finally pulled the trigger!

Post by The J-Man »

I placed an order for the Kronos 2 88 key yesterday. I'm very excited!

The only bad news is that Sweetwater didn't actually have any of them in stock and my sales guy doesn't know when they'll be in.

I'm waiting with anticipation!

Kraft Music (http://www.kraftmusic.com/korg-kronos8- ... ation.html) has them in stock and you can get some stuff bundled with it to ease the pain. And they will customize those bundles too.

That's where I ordered mine from and it was ready to be shipped the same day. I'm expecting delivery on this upcoming Tuesday. Ask for Scott (x 4007)if you call them. He's been very helpful.

I looked at Kraft...I really liked their bundles, but I didn't really need em. I figured I'd stick with Sweetwater because I've ordered tons of things from them in the past.

If it seems like it's going to take longer than a week, then I'll give Scott a call.

Hey, just noticed you live in Baltimore. I lived in Parkville many moons ago.

As for the bundles, yeah, I wanted the nanopad2, foot pedals, extra cables and the Z-stand from the studio bundle, and added in a soft dust cover. Deleted all the rest from the order. So I got that stuff I wanted for just $50 extra. With free shipping to boot.

Hope your order goes through quickly with Sweetwater. It looks like shipments are finally coming in with the new Kronos.

Delays

Post by Ottawa58 »

My dealer in Canada - Long and McQuade, contacted the Canadian Korg sales rep for a delivery estimate. He said there is a shipment arriving in North America in March that will catch up with most of the back orders. But the March shipment is actually smaller is than expected. Then in April, another that should bring them up to current orders. I have an 88 on order. I don't have high hopes for March.

Wouldn't it be nice if it were like buying an Apple computer? On-line visibility regarding your order! Imagine!

I ordered months and months ago, so hopefully my order is among the first. I have a friend who works at L&M and apparently the distributor has gotten those keyboards already (Tuesday, the 10th) and are shipping them out to the first stores to order their boards. I believe my local L&M is getting two, and one of them is mine for sure, but there's an expected arrival date of the 17th, and then again on April 2nd.

Again, fingers crossed mine is the first one, but I already have a Kronos so I shouldn't complain really.

Mine actually came from Sweetwater, got it yesterday. I ordered it a long time ago though, but at least I can confirm they've started receiving shipments of them.

Maybe these shipment delays have had something to do with the longshormen's strike on the west coast? Just a thought.

I'm a pretty patient guy. I ordered a nanopad2 at the same time and they sent it to me free of charge, so that made me feel good. That arrived first thing this morning.

I'll keep everyone posted!

This all reminds me of 2011 - waiting for the original Kronos to ship to the UK. Eventually my 73 key baby arrived (serial number 309). Now, in a loving gesture towards rewarding the early-adopting men of infinite patience, Korg UK tell me that its infeasible to upgrade my board as it was bought before August 2012 and they, therefore, won't do it for me.

Thanks to the wonders of YouTube and a wander into Maplins my infeasible to update board now has the additional RAM, second SSD and the new Sound Pack....

This is only a minor gripe to express my disappointment in their position as the JFDI yourself route probably cost me half of what Korg would have charged. Enjoy the Kronos 2 (?) - I am.....

My L&M representant said the same thing to me, April...
We will have to wait 😀

Just ordered a k2 88 from Sweetwater as well. Looks like it may be a few weeks after all of the preorders are filled first they say.

My original K73 is going in for warranty repair after I get my new K88 to fix that damn vertical line in the display issue that some other users have reported. Then she will be retired to another home with a few EXs thrown in

I will be very happy to finally go to 88 keys and get the new Berlin D as well, but I really wish KORG would allow us to transfer EXs within the user accounts and not lock them to the original Kronos.

Hi! I'm new - what does transferring the EX's mean? Thanks!

When you buy a Kronos and then buy the additional exs from Korg, they are tied to that Kronos forever, barring any technical issues that Korg repairs needs to take care of. If you sell your Kronos after installing exs then they go with the Kronos they do not stay with the person who bought them, you can not transfer them from one Kronos to another. Once again this is exactly why I will not buy any exs from korg. I can honestly say I would have had almost all of them if transferring them, at least from one board to another if owned by the original purchaser. My bare minimum requirement. But that is just me many others buy them with no issues like I have.

No new updates from Sweetwater, but I'm being patient about it. My sales guy is awesome, so I'm not going to pester him.

As for transferring the additional libraries, I think Korg has to err on the side of caution. They're trying to prevent piracy and that's their right. I personally think however, that they could and should consider linking libraries to accounts like previously mentioned.

It's a pretty big missed opportunity in my book, as I won't be purchasing any new libraries for this reason.
