I just checked the "free" one I have and I don't see it. I see Sweet Dreams but not Here Comes The Rain Again. Maybe it's in the one that comes with the Kronos 2?

I havent seen this sound there. I cant figure karma for arpeggio like this, ob triton it was easier to programm this kind of arpeggio.

EH, I see you are working on More Human, Than Human. Excellent and thanks for even attempting it. But if you get bored and want to try other syncopated sounds from songs, the basic running (mostly throughout the songs) syncopations of Rio from Duran Duran and Eminence Front from The Who are a couple of requests.

Love what you've done already! Keep up the great work!

I've been reading the forum for a few months while I searched for a killer deal on a used Kronos - lo and behold I found a Craigslist gem a couple of weeks ago. I'm in the Philly area and the Kronos was in Vegas, but I was able to convince the guy to ship it out to me and it actually arrived in one piece. Needless to say, I'm incredibly excited to be joining the group

That being said, I've been checking out this thread and am amazed at what enigmahack has been creating for everyone. I have yet to load any of the patches, but I'll say thanks in advance. I'm truly excited to try these out as I have many favorites from the 80s, including Howard Jones, Genesis, and Prince.

General question for those who recently purchased the K2 or bought the updated soundset - is the soundset worth the $300?

I actually did a partial cover of this on my Kronos:

The arpeggio in the beginning is just a simple sawtooth style with a bit of dirt, but the dirt may be from the production. Not sure. It's repeating ascending arpeggiated 7ths. The second arpeggio is ascending octaves (2 I believe - not at my keyboard right now).

That's the thing. We have people hardly contributing to this board jacking this thread. This timber could very well be in another existing sound bank.

Its really nice cover, very well! I know whats the notes, sound isnt problem too, but cant figure out Karma... I made first arpeggio, but when its goind 2 octaves higher i cant do this with note range function, and cant make two different arpeggios becuase i dont know how to save one arpeggio in my user bank. Maybe you can post pcg?

I can do that -- but how does one export a single Program file from a PCG? If anyone can point me in the right direction I'd be happy to post the PCG file here.

EDIT: Never mind. I've got it. Here's the link:

HCTRA Arp.PCG

The Karma GE is quite simple. Use GE 0026 Basic Arp UP. Set Duration Control to 22 for heavy gated effect. Note range should be at 32 to limit range to two octaves.

The second arpeggio, at least the way I hear it, is two Am9 chords played two octaves apart.

Thanks nooncheez! I'll check that out as well, sounds like an awesome one to have in a collection should the need ever arise.

In the meantime, I've updated the original thread with a few more sounds.

I was asked to do one called More Human Than Human. The moving bass part was easy enough, but the Kronos doesn't have a good bitrate reduction effect that I would need to get the exact sound as on the album, so instead of trying to come up with a poor representation, I instead got a good nasty sound that would also work in it's place.

In addition, I finished two more.

I did the ELP Fanfare for the Common Man - Intro horn and lead fluty sound. These ones I decided to create using the HD-1 instead of AL-1 to see how much different it would be - it was faster, but I'm worried that I might have samples on my board that others do not which means some sounds might not work. I'm not sure if there's a compatibility list somewhere perhaps that would describe what samples ALWAYS come default on a Kronos?

Here's the demo of me playing the intro to Fanfare either way:

Thanks a lot! Second arpeggio is the same pattern just going 2 octaves up.

Okay, I figured out another problem I was having and managed to get a new sound created:

ELP's Hoedown. (This is the opening sound)

I'm pretty confident that this one is identical and most people would be happy with it.

Hey enigmahack - just watched your youtube videos and I have to say, I've NEVER seen the sound design process described as in-depth and "real" as you have. I'm not a synth guy and don't have a ton of desire to become one, but I learned a lot of very useful information. Great job!

I have a sound I'd like you to try if you have time. Fell in love with this sound after watching this vid. The sound is a Jupiter-80 solo I think, but not mono. Sounds kind of simple but I think there are some complexities there especially with the way the portamento works (I believe it persists even after re-trigger or silence, if that makes sense).

The first 2-3 minutes should give you a good idea of how the sound works, and I think 9:00 - 12:00 is a must-listen as well.

Thanks in advance! Also, I'm using a Kronos 2, if that makes any difference. I just got it yesterday so I'm new to all this. I'll have to figure out how to load a sound. I'm sure tons of tutorials exist for that on Youtube already.

Hey, thanks for the compliment!

Yeah, I've been having some free time lately and have shacked up with my Kronos so I've been able to get through a bunch of sounds. I'll see what I can do (Adding it to my to-do list)

As an aside, I've created the horn sound from Go West: We Close Our Eyes.

The person who requested this... I don't know if they were asking for all of the sounds in the chorus, or if it was just the main sound. I assumed the primary horn sound was the majority of what they wanted to that's what I made.

The audio demo of me playing it is here:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/490 ... nsDemo.mp3

Whoever requested it, please let me know if this is what you needed or if there was other things in that song too that I missed.

The sounds load into Program U-EE and U-FF, but the combi for the whole thing is U-E.

Yep, it was me who requested it and yes, that is the right sound and I'd say you've absolutely nailed it! Thank you so much!! :D

The other sounds in the song are not as involved and within my grasp to tweak other sounds to cover them.

Korg, I think you should take note and add Enigmahack to the sound programming team for the Kronos... such talent should not be overlooked!
Kronos 73 Mk1, Roland Fantom 07 and a studio full o'stuff!
