Hi enigmahack

Whilst I'm waiting for my Kronos to arrive, please can you explain how you made the intro to shine on you crazy diamond?
I.e. How many different sounds you made and how you put it together in a combination and can one play it in one go.

Pity there was no video of that one.

You're a star

Cheers

The idea of recording the videos only came after that sound, but basically I made 4 layers. The premise was from researching the album; if you look at wikipedia. I was checking out the synths they used, and tried to listen for the characteristics of those synths specifically, and then make the layers based on that.

Going further than that though was a lot of trial and error, but also a lot of process that I follow in the videos as well.

Ideally I would have had the isolated tracks but generally it was pretty simple to hear the channels themselves.

Was there anything specific you were curious about?

I'm sure all will become clear when I can load up your sound, but I was wondering how you were triggering the sounds effects, are they on separate keys in the combi or are they built into the timeline of the sound? Does that make sense, not sure I'm explaining very well

Oh! I see. The sound effect was set to E2 on the keyboard (If you check the Combi, the zone mapping I think I set to just E2, but I don't recall offhand)

Robbie - Eventually I probably will. Right now, I've been focusing on just making the sounds though. I'm running 3.0.2 however which doesn't have support yet for the remote editor.

At any rate, I was going to do this eventually when I had enough sounds put together

I've updated a couple of requests, now added to the to-do list.

Next up: Jordan Rudess's V-Synth/MorphWiz lead.

Hi enigmahack,

Your work amazes me. My band and I always wanted to play Dogs from the album Animals, I'd love to show up with these 2 sounds. It's the eerie strings and also the lead sound at 10:02

https://youtu.be/9lgOo8yEIPs?t=10m2s

I just got here so I'm a little embarassed to ask. I hope it's feasible and you don't mind. Thanks

The strings will most likely be a Solina processed by a phaser, and the synth a either a Minimoog or VCS3. The way the lead line is played is interesting as it is very "glide heavy" which makes you wonder how it was played and what it was played on. And of course you have a vocoded dog bark in there; probably an early Korg Vocoder

Out if interest, here is quite a useful resource, although you have take it's accuracy with a pinch ofsalt when it refers to a Prophet 5 as an additive synth!

Thanks for the info. But even with the original instruments, I don't think I could reproduce theses sounds faithfully. Hence my original request.

KrixPrix wrote:Could you do the so called "Hendrix Wiz" lead sound by Jordan Rudess?
It's originally made with a Roland V-Synth XT.
He uses it on the Haken Continuum here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-QpKGr6WB4&t=120 (at around
2.00 minutes)
He sampled this sound to hist iPad app SampleWiz which is toggled by a keytar in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e5wNNU9hH4g

I especially love that grungy nuance on it.
Would that be possible?
:D

I tried every single sound you provided, and you did a really good job
Thanks in advance.

Done and done. It's pretty accurate but you asked for some grunge so I did that too.

Quick sample of me playing with it (I tried my best to channel my inner "Rudess"), and PCG to follow:
