Can you transpose the Krome 88 without affecting the external module yet stay both in midi channel 1
for ie. I have a Kurzweil PC3 going out to a Roland VK8M organ Module
With the Kurzweil in Master Mode I can transpose PC3 down 1 octave without affecting the external organ module transposition.
Can this be done with the Krome/
Sorry, I got that backwards. If I run midi out of my SP170 into midi in on the Krome and then transpose the Krome itself, The Sp170 is also transposed.
Globally transposing the keyboard on the Krome transposes all midi notes generated by it, whether those notes are sent to an internal sound or an external module. This makes sense to me
You could still transpose a SOUND on the Krome without affecting the external module though. Look on the main oscillator page for the octave setting (4, 8, 16) and the pitch page for semitones (I think).
This same question was asked (by the same person) on another forum. Following is part of my response which I think will make the Krome do what he wants. I'm re-posting it here so other Krome owners can try it if needed (and let me know if it does in fact work) because I haven't had time to try it, only read it in the manual.
check out pages 198/199 of the Krome Parameter Guide. At the bottom right of page 198 you will see the heading 'Convert Position [PreMIDI, PostMIDI]' selecting Post MIDI may solve your problem. If not, there are other ways to do this on the Krome, like utilizing the Combination mode, but won't bother explaining that yet in hopes of the Convert Position idea working.
