I say no respect...

Whats next, putting a brand new Kronos in a blender?

Our society is just sick...

I can appreciate the joke, he didn't use a DX7 for nothing. Probably one of the most replaceable oldies out there. Plus it's all digital.

Yes…perhaps a "sic" joke, pure vandalism,or maybe an example of how keyboards could end up with regular gigging...??(Those darned roadies....).
It did make me laugh, though…then cringe…nearly hid behind my chair at one point….. :)

Shame we didn't hear any improved sound….Oh well...

This is actually very similar to how they "vintage" some vintage reissue guitars. All musicians are weird but we may actually be less weird than guitar players with this one.

It's funny, I had a second hand DX7II (my first polysynth) which was very battle scarred. And to think I sold it because it looked awful (and my FS1r, when I scored one, could do all of its sounds), or did I miss the fact that it had this wonderful vintage look?

Same with my first (second hand) SY77. That was a very sad looking specimen until I cleaned it up and got it looking like new again. To think I could have kept that vintage look. ;)

i bet guitar players smack their BMW's into brick walls and run over large boulders to give it that ' road rage ' look ;)

I guess i should see the humor in the video.
But damn! that ole FM synth was in great shape, and the guy ruined it.
Plus it hit a nerve, the DX 7 was the first synth i had lust for.
Dont think i could watch that video a second time.

I can't do that to my guitars some cost as much as my Kronos and every little ding kills me! That said I know a guy who took his expensive Strat and tried to vintage it. He put it in the oven and backed the body good and hot then ran it outside on his deck in Canada to get the finish to craze, He was disappointed when it didn't work! Crazy!

Donation to a music school or 'real' user of a synth would be more appropriate.
