Slave is TOO LOUD!!!

Post by chensa »

I have a Yamaha Motif ES as a Master. The M3 is the slave.

In the M3, I have a combi set up to play multiple voices on different channels depending on how I have it set up in my Song on the Yamaha. (I'm playing live, not recording a sequence). For some reason, what is a normal volume on the M3 is being played VERY LOUD on the Yamaha. I've checked volumes and everything I can think of.

I'm guessing it's because I'm using it in a SONG on the Motif, but not sure where the problem is.

I'm not sure which is the problem, the master or the slave. So I'm posting in both forums.

HELLLPPP MEEEEEE.... :(

Try adjusting the volume of each timbre of the M3 combi. On the mixer tab there is a checkbox labeled Hold Balance. That will let you adjust the level of all timbres together moving just one slider.

I've tried that. The volume does adjust when I do that, but it's still a marked difference when played through the master. There has to be something else causing this.

If you're routing the audio back into the Motif try adjusting the Gain knob next to the input jacks. I'm not really familiar with the ES so don't know what else you could try.

omg, i just figured it out. I change the velocity curve in the global settings to a 7 and it seems to be working evenly between the keyboards. Who would have thunk!!
