A songstyle is essentially a style where the changes were NOT taken out for each Division. You play one key chord to start it, then let it take over the changes. It makes a decent alternative to using Markers in an SMF (you generally get more Divisions than most 4 Marker systems), and simplifies turning a decent SMF into a style.
Of course, it only works for the one song, but if you like a lot of interactive control over your sequence, it's the way that was used before Markers started to appear on SMF playback and allowed restructuring an SMF on the fly.
I don't see the player inputting any chords with the LH much on that video, so I wondered if this is what it is...
