I've been watching the Sonicstate coverage of Messe. Even taking into account their love of "proper" grown-up synts for real men, i have never seen so many very expensive boxes sprouting so many cables making so many of the same bland noises. Am i missing something?
If I'm not listening to music, or if I'm not making music, then I'm probably thinking about music.

Volca Sample, FM, Beats, Kick. OP-1, Monologue, Pocket Operators. And an ipad.

I don't think you're missing something. Some people love to get lost in the sea of wires and patching. Often focusing strictly on sound design, and ending up with fart noises. Don't get me wrong, I love analog synths. The MS-20 mini is endless fun and one of my favorites. But I'm more a fan of semi-modular, stuff that gives you some control but also feels like an instrument.

If you want to absolutely lose your mind, turn on captions with English translation and try to follow along.

Haha, that totally reminds me of this one NewsRadio episode where one the owner of the company gets a book published in Japan and then re-translated back in English: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RzNUg_IcKrI

Everything this guy said is already known. He basically said that it should be available soon and that you can play samples with it.

But he also said that the user samples are saved onto the SD card, so I don't get why there is this 270 seconds limitation. Maybe it's really a limitation per pattern, because the samples have to be loaded into the memory?

Maybe, just maybe, that will be it's saving grace. If we get 270 ram plus sd limited rom, even with 499 (999?) samples, I will buy it. I really want something I can work with many samples.

It's in the new rev2 electribe2 manual: the e2s does not stream from the SD CARD. User samples are loaded into memory at boot.

All European Korg resellers have raised their prices by about $50 for both units. Guess Korg is sure this is a top notch product that will fly of the shelves. It only makes the decision to buy the JD-Xi first easier. Korg has some firmware ironing to do before they get my money again
