E2 -- 3/4 time and pads playing patterns?

Post by Psychcowboy »

Does anyone know how to set a pattern to play in 3/4 time?
Also, still haven't seen an answer to my question of why a pad plays different notes at different steps in the pattern...e.g. on many of the presets pad 1-4 or the whole top row vary notes in the pattern.

ps: my latest E2 Micron sketch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xT6UdVHqC7A

Change the part length to 12. I don't understand your 2nd question, can you rephrase it a little more clearly?

E2 -- pads play a pattern

Post by Psychcowboy »

In the presets a pad plays a sequence of notes, not just the same note at all parts in the sequence -- often many of the pads in the top row. Since I am playing with a synth and guitar I don't really want the E2 pads to play their own melody -- I would rather simplify it so the pad plays the same note anywhere I select it in the sequence. Does that help?
Feel free to email -- psychcowboy at yahoo, thx.

So you're saying instead of playing a melody you want the same note repeated? Just clear the sequence and record what note you want. Gate arp will help here (#1)

Also, why not just initialiZe the pattern so you have a fresh blank slate to work on?

E2 pads play melody

Post by Psychcowboy »

I like many of the preset patterns, so I don't want to clear the sequence and start from scratch. I just want to go to some pad and tell it to play the same note, or to simplify the number of notes it plays; e.g. instead of a pad playing 1 4 3 6 5 7... (notes in the key), I would rather it just has say 1 4 as options.
