How many GB of SD card can be recognized by PA900?
I have a 8GB SD card, I formatted it on FAT32 (as advised in the user manual), but the keyboard would not recognize it. I've had another one which is just 1GB and it sees it no problem, but I think 1GB is too little space for my needs. Also tried number of USB flash drives I have, and it recognizes only the 2GB (which is the smallest one I have), but not the 8, 16, or the 32GB ones. Not that I need 32 gigs of data in the keyboard, but I think at least 8 gigs would cover the needs of everyone. Just to have enough space for backups of your MIDI's, SET's, performances, styles, samples and etc. and have some room for some MP3's to play while having a break, instead of running another cable to the mixer from an external player. I'd rather use the SD card than the USB simply for the sake of practicality for not having to remove the flash drive every night after the gig before putting the keyboard in the case (mine is not rigid), and it will wear less the keyboard's USB slot and the flash drive.
Did someone knows is there a size limit for external memory the PA900 could recognize, and how much it is?

If worried about transporting your arranger with the USB stick sticking out, try one of these: http://www.sandisk.com/products/usb/drives/cruzer-fit/
It only protrudes a couple of millimeters, effectively removing the chance of accidental damage.

FAT32 supports up to 32GB ... Did you try formatting the USB drive on the keyboard vs your PC?valio7771 wrote:I have a 8GB SD card, I formatted it on FAT32 (as advised in the user manual), but the keyboard would not recognize it. 16 GB Sandisk - works USB
I use a 16 GB Sandisk USB flash drive. I had no problems using it. I have my OS upgraded to latest version.

Yes, that was the first thing I tried, but it can't see it to let me do so.Thoraldus wrote: FAT32 supports up to 32GB ... Did you try formatting the USB drive on the keyboard vs your PC?
Lucky you! Yes, mine also is updated to the latest (1.20) version, I bought it updated.subhap wrote:I use a 16 GB Sandisk USB flash drive. I had no problems using it. I have my OS upgraded to latest version.
I'm starting to think if it's a good idea to re-install the OS my self, just in case, or out of despair may be?

we have a similar thread already. Pa900 can support 32 GB of SD card.

Be careful of any sticks that have 'security' features on them. What they tend to be is invisible partitions with security data on them. Problem is, they tend to be the first partition on the stick. Most arrangers aren't smart enough to skip looking at the first partition (or trying to look for the first partition) and go to the next one. So they hang up trying to load them.
Buy ordinary sticks with no extra stuff on them...

32 GB USB supported
I am using Sandisk Ultra 3.0 USB pen drive and works without problem.
wrt SD card, I am unlucky to use it ... as in order for the Indian Tones to work, I have to keep the SD card given by furtados ...within the unit always
as it contains the decryption key for those indian tones.
What a Design decision by Korg
They say its Keyboard for all around the world, but then .... have this feature.

M4MyIndia, the problem is piracy. You are probably aware that unprotected SET's quickly get 'shared', and there goes the money for all the effort the seller put in... so what incentive does he have to make and sell any more?
We have another thread where we are discussing ways that perhaps Korg ought to take over the distribution of protected SET's, so that many SET's can be bought and sold, and ALL work at the same time. Maybe you'd like to join in that conversation?
