Part not playing AMP/EG issue?
I have a strange situation, I have made some sounds and all of the sudden the sounds stop playing during playback. I can record a sequence and it appears in sequence mode. I can play the sound on the pad, but it does not play back.
To demonstrate I have made this little video, as it is tricky to explain
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jj6DopT4veE
It seems it has something to do with the AMP/EG. It seems long decay times trip the thing over...
So the question is how can I reset a single part (using clear motion and sequence does not do the job!)
Also I have tried to copy the sound to another part. When I do this the new part is also dead.
So something happens with the sound that makes it unplayable through the sequence.
That is a very critical fault, because the whole point of this machine is to play sequences and if it dies while using specific sounds then the thing is useless.
So far the new Electribe is very disappointing

Is your synth part muted? Hit the mute button, then the pad corresponding to the synth part should be lit red. If the pad is unlit, then it is muted and your sequence will not play back. I would say that would be your first port of call.
If I'm not listening to music, or if I'm not making music, then I'm probably thinking about music.

Try switching the synth part AMP/EG off first, or turning the attack to something closer to zero. Your synth part seems to have a slow attack, so when you are recording your pad hits, maybe you need to hold them down a little longer? And switching single steps on in sequencer mode with a sound that has a slow attack may result in silence. The electribe 2 sequencer can be a little tricky to program step by step, as sustained notes have to be tied together etc. People have found it's easier to record things live rather than step program.
Also, are you working in a pattern that was once a factory preset and you cleared out all the data/motion sequences? If so, it's better to start with a blank Init Pattern, people have reported problems when working with cleared factory presets.

Thanks for the replies,
Changing the AMP/EG setting doesn't do it. Tried that.
It doesn't matter if I program in step or real time. The sound is dead. Even copying it to another part then kills that part too.
I start from a blank pattern, no preset, and copying over it solves the problem, but I loose all I have done.
Doesn't help much to work on your own sounds and the loose everything because of some system hick up.
But I think the AMP/EG theory is a good idea. It might be that the with long decay times that are longer than the part itself the system trips because it seems to still play the long sound from the first cycle and then never retriggers the new one. Anyhow it should not kill the whole part.
Also deleting sequence and motion diesn't help. Once it's dead it's dead.
Only completely deleting it solves the problem so far.
That is my latest theory...but still a stupid glitch, as you can't see and don't know when the decay time might be too long. Also I can't change it back it seems. Still it is a dead part and therefore pretty annoying ... Also as you could see in the video, the decay was short again and the other sound plays without a problem...

I am stumped. I thought switching the AMP/EG to off would solve it. Have you tried experimenting with the attack times with the AMP/EG switched on?
I've had the electribe 2 since December 2014 and I have never been able to make it do what yours is doing in the video!!

CONFIRMED - I think. I have a similar part lockup.
This happened to me several times on the kick part (part 9). I generally start with an INIT pattern. The usual vanilla 1-bar with the kick drum.
Every few weeks or so, I get the bug.
No matter what I enter in the sequencer for that kick part, it still plays the 4/4 beat. I real-time record too. But that won't work.
The part will not be muted, obviously, since I can hear the default 1,5, 9, 13 kick.
It responds to triggers, it changes sound to another drum when the oscillator knob is turned - but it stays locked until I restart, no method of entering notes or erasing notes will work.
Sounds like the same bug as yours but on a pre-programmed factory INIT kick part.

Yep, not knob fiddling, no switching no nothing will free the part, trust me I tried every menu point and every switch....
I have reset to factory setting and created a new part from scratch and bingo the problem is there again...
Seems to be genuine glitch...frustrating
Don't know what to do. As I said makes the whole thing pointless if you can create a situation (not knowing how) that renders the machine useless....
