Touch panel replaced, now no response at all???? HELP!!!

Post by apex »

Replaced m3 touch panel per included instructions. Put it back together and everything turned on fine but the screen is not responding to any touch now. Any ideas or suggestions to what I did wrong?
If someone could explain the location of the touch panel and how it relates to the functionality. I outlined the old one on left and right before I removed it. It was right in the edge on the top and bottom so I couldn't get that.
How can u tell which side is the front?

Thanks for the help. Lol

But I figured it out. The touch panel was in backwards (flipped) whatever you want to call it. The part that received the touch was on the wrong side...

It works now, so all is well.

Glad you sorted it out. I'll add a helpful tip for others who might be having touch screen problems and come across this thread ...

The calibration on my touch screen was so far off that it was pretty much unusable. I couldn't even run the calibrate procedure because I couldn't get the menu to display. I found that going to global mode and holding ENTER and pressing 4 opened the screen calibration dialog. I was then able to successfully recalibrate the screen.

I know that complete failure is imminent and I have a spare screen ready and waiting, but it bought me some time. When the day comes I will just take it all to a service center as I fear I will do worse than a backwards installation :)
