Korg Kronos iPad holder

Post by mikey23 »

Came across this cool iPad holder that mounts on the Kronos. Looks like it was posted today. Anybody have any info about it? There doesn't seem to be a link to purchase it.

Looks like a decent solution except that it may fly off the ends. A small plastic stop glued to the cheeks would prevent that. As would just being careful.

Might try making a similar one using either some plastic or wood.

I think I heard a thud when he moved it all the way to the right, meaning there might be some kind of stop in place. Now that you mention it Apex, it does seem like it could easily get in the way.

Totally impractical!

It would have been a better video with the cable attached

I'd probably use this if I could be convinced it was solidly mounted and held.
I select most of my sounds from the iPad and could comfortably block the bank select part. I've simply laid it across the screen part during some sitting down gigs but I do need to occasionally touch the screen.

I'd love to have one of these. I'm preparing to reunite an old rock band using the Kronos 61 plus an iPad as a guitar processor. This would be the perfect way to set the iPad on the Kronos.

Intuitive thinkin, would even work more efficient on the 88 key version..more room on the right side

I would add a mechanical break and a mechanic to turn the ipad 90 degrees... But then creating moving parts with a 3d printer is out of most peoples league

I use a heavy duty rubber case for my iPad. I just sticks to my kronos by its own weight. I have a k73 so there is enough room at the end to sit it on.

I went through different iterations of trying to get a solid, comfortable mount of my iPad on top of the Kronos and eventually gave up. I currently use one of these and it's absolutely awesome. You can screw on the top of a straight mic stand and is infinitely more flexible and solid. I currently have a little mic gooseneck that I have clamped to a Roland electronic drum mount that attaches to my a-frame stand and it's totally integrated and very flexible froma positioning standpoint.

(just make sure you get the right version for your iPad version)

That is a very nice solution. Not just for the iPad. I have a Blofeld standing on my Kronos. But due to the rounded edges there is not enough room. So I created an aluminium plate that makes the rounded edges straitght. However, this would be a far better solution.

Those K&M things are great, I have two different ones. One that mounts to the top of the stand and one that has an arm that attaches to any tube. Only thing is it's hard to mount very tight, if you mount it to a slanted tube it's hard to fix it in place so that it doesn't droop with the iPad in it. Maybe that's less of an issue with the lighter iPad Air series.
