Greetings. I'm new to the electribe and korg world (and the forum as well). I bought an electribe some days ago and I have seen many videos on youtube of people using the electribe combined with the kp3+... so enthusiastically I bought a kp3+ but I have no idea how to make them work together. I'm receiving today the kp3+ so I would like to know which cables to buy and how to connect them.
My main idea is to play some minimal/trance music and use the effects of the kp3+ sometimes while playing.
I'm sorry if this topic has been discussed before and sorry for my english (its not my main language). At least in my country (Chile) I have seen no one using these instruments so any help is welcome.
You'll need audio cables that are 6.5mm audio jacks on one end (I believe? Check the back of the electribe model you have), and RCA on the other end. Possibly get little converter dongles if you can't find the cables. You'll want 2 cables, for stereo. Plug them into the electribe audio out and then the KP3+ audio in. Then, using more cables, take the outputs of the KP3+ and what you're doing from there is up to you (again, mixer/interface/amp/recorder/whatever). They'll need to be RCA from the KP3+ and the kind of plug you'll need on the other end depends on the device you're plugging it into.
Also consider midi out from the electribe to midi in on the KP3+, to synchronise them. You should be able to use the tap tempo and/or auto BPM on the KP3+ to sync any effects that need to be in time even without midi, but midi will do it automatically and perfectly. That will need a midi cable, also called a 5-pin DIN cable.
You can generally figure this stuff out by knowing what kinds of data your gear produces and consumes, and what cables and jacks are used for that kind of data. Reading the manuals also helps.

Hello there mate. Thank you very much!
By the way, wasstof, will the mixer be helpful in any way? Because I can change it for a good speaker.

Slds y gracias!
No. A mixer is entirely optional. You only need one when you have multiple synths/samplers/sound sources to mix, and/or send to external fx.
You can run straight into a PA, monitors, keyboard amp, or other speakers without any problems. Guitar amps, however, will tend to kill the low end and color your sound - only use if you want your synth to sound like a guitar.
Thanks a lot!
The damn store seller swore I needed a mixer. So I guess I'm gonna go there and ask for a change and instead of the mixer i'll get a monitor.
