ES 2 officially out in the U.S. + ES2 Sampling videos!

Post by SMK »

Good news:

The Electribe Sampler is complete and released in the U.S.

However:

The release is only for independent retailers.

So basically those that pre-ordered with the bigger companies are still waiting.

Back to more good news:

FranzK has posted some awesome sampling demos, not more sound demos, but actually showing off the sampling workflow:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U4_2u9I ... e=youtu.be

Follow VJ FranzK for more Sampling videos:

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCwXxEU ... 1kNe8RHcOw

That's it for now!

awesome??????????????????

ummmm

a cynical and pointedly desperate attempt for youtube views...

SMK, how many of your highly detailed questions you posted on FB were answered in that piece of garbage?

("oh, i sampled in stereo, that's why it's taken 2 tracks..." ROFL)

and people had the hide to bag out yamada...

sheesh.

Wow.....that was useless. It samples. You can change the start time. Stereo samples take two parts....pretty sure we already knew that months ago.

How about someone shows wether slicing has changed, wether it does stretch parts anymore ( rumored a no) and wether it does realtime looping( didn't Mistabishi say something to that effect?) shows anything it can do that the es1 and EMX didn't.

Not a jab at you smk, unless your secretly vs frank K!

Theyre definitely not the same person. Anyway, he just got it, literally, yesterday. He also said there are some things not covered in the manual. I wonder if a parameter guide shipped with it?

Maybe in a day or two we'll get some more informative videos.

and polyphony - can it really handle 8 stereo or 16 mono without tracks trampling over each other?

You will still read reviews on the e2 - "dude, its got 16 tracks!!!!"

Would be cool if VJ Franz can start a thread here where we can ask him questions about the sampler.

A few things -
What does Chord mode/poly do - does it just layer up the samples?
Can we see time slice in action?
How does editing samples work?

Another sampling video for the ES2, this time from Syuhei Yamada https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A5f6mDRpzWE

Please no comments that this is in Japanese; the video is pretty self explanatory.

This artist was nice enough to put this together. Like Franz he has more Sampling demos planned for posting.

Ok, this vid I can fully appreciate. Now I'm getting excited about this box, wasn't in english but that's ok. Can't wait to have both my Electrons next to both my Electribes. The lab is coming together:)

What sweet and nice comments we get to read here on Korg forums regarding the hard work of other artists who actually give us original content and who's demos go above and beyond the scope of just playing presets. I am amazed at the positive support of words like "garbage" bring to a sophic conversation about the local release of new videos showing us, even just a little, more about a piece of gear than we what have seen or heard so far. Even more, the encouragement felt behind allegations that someone made a post just only to raise ones views is such a breath of fresh air.

Thank you so much for this meaningful feed back, and displaying your impressive level of mindfulness.

Thanks for posting these! I'm wanting the ES2 for rhythm sampling device, and these videos definitely help show the potential of it for this purpose. I'm definitely picking one up!

That was the best es2 vid yet. And for the love of God it was well lit and you could read the menu most of the time and it was plain to see what was going on. I really liked how you can now move the cursor when changing start and end points. Still many questions, but at least some new info could be gleaned from that video.
