Monotron malfunction due to magnet

Hi folks,

I clumsily left a magnet on the ribbon of my monotron and now, when I use it, it cuts out mid-drone, then starts again, then cuts out again ect. Looks like the magnet has damaged it somewhat. Is there anything I can do to repair it? Cheers.

I would try to de-magnetize it.. who knows that will do the trick
