ESX and ES2 Sample Battles?

Post by gizmoismogwai »

Hey everyone,

The SP forums host sample battles where someone will challenge anyone willing to participate to build a track out of a specific set of samples. They may or may not set rules about how those samples (or any additional samples) may be used but in many cases you're not allowed to use anything but what's provided. And then the community goes for it, sharing all kinds of twists and takes on the source material, ultimately voting on a winning entry.

I believe the SP guys do it like this: 1 thread to propose a challenge and have people submit their tracks via soundcloud or youtube link, 1 thread that's a poll to decide who the winner is.

Would the ESX and ES2 owners on this forum be interested in doing something similar?

Count me in!!! (Esx-1 owner)
If I'm not listening to music, or if I'm not making music, then I'm probably thinking about music.

Volca Sample, FM, Beats, Kick. OP-1, Monologue, Pocket Operators. And an ipad.

You're absolutely right. While we're at it, the Volca Sample should also be allowed!
