"Media files missing" in Ableton after exporting f

Post by jurfin »

Hi there -

I tried to get a project from my ES2 into Ableton for the first time this evening, and overall it was a pretty easy and quick process, which is great, BTW. I saved the files to my computer and dinked around with the project in Ableton and then saved it.

I came back to it later and now Ableton is saying that the media files are missing... The set is still saved, and the set file that I put into Ableton is still where I left it, but apparently there is no audio now?

I am probably missing something obvious, as I am pretty new to all this, and much better at playing guitar than I am at working with computers and samplers. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

After you open the project in Ableton the first time, be sure you go to File and then "Collect All And Save". That will put all the audio files in the project folder for you.

I've seen that when working off samples stored on a removable drive somewhere and I haven't properly saved the files onto my hard drive. So perhaps Ableton's looking for a SD card which isn't connected?

Good luck!
