Kronos STOLEN!

Hey guys,

Unfortunately our new 2015 Ford Expedition (That we've had for 4 months) with my Kronos inside plus ALL of our gigging gear was STOLEN right out of our driveway yesterday while we were sleeping in Poughkeepsie NY.

Korg guys: Any chance I can get my licenses transferred? I just picked up a new Kronos last night to cover our commitments and now REALLY need those sounds! Thanks.

Here's what was stolen: I haven't had a chance to locate/post serials. Unfortunately our insurance doesn't cover and it's a TOTAL loss.

Are you sure your insurance won't cover it? Your homeowner's insurance (or renter's insurance if you are renting) should cover it. I didn't incur a theft, but I did lose some gear and my collection of Beatle's memorabilia in a fire years ago. I had my stuff stored at my aunt's house and her house burned down. My homeowner's insurance covered it, even though it wasn't stored at my house. I called my insurance agent who told me it was not covered, but when I called the claims department they told me that it was. I would definitely investigate further if I were you. Sorry about the loss of your vehicle and gear.

If your vehicle was on your property on the driveway then your insurance should cover it (sorry - can only speak for Australia though).

Thanks guys. They said it's not covered because we're "professionals" and it's a separate rider. We made a bad assumption that at least SOMETHING would be covered. The "extra" insurance is something we just ever "got around to" and it bit us.

Sorry to hear that NuSkoolTone, the insurance company's in this country are pathetic!!
Maybe it was the escapees from the upstate prison (sorry I had to).

Really sorry to hear of your loss. I went through something similar years ago and was told the same thing - if you use it professionally, you must pay for a rider clause. It's sucks, doesn't it.

Here's hoping your vehicle and equipment are found soon and in good order.

OMG! This is a huge list of equipment.

I'm not criticizing you in any way, but I have never left my Kronos in my trunk overnight. But I did have my car stolen once a decade ago. Learned the hard way.

That's BS. When I had my music gear stolen from my vehicle in my driveway, homeowners ins covered it.

Also, very sorry you are going through this. I will never leave gear in my vehicle again after my experience.

I'm really sorry to hear about this, having had gear stolen before by lowlifes and the insurance not paying up I feel for you, it's s**t.

That's a massive loss...so sorry to hear your bad news!

Just how much hard graft went into buying all that gear I dread to think?

Let's hope they get caught...I dare not say what I'd like to see happen to them. Take it from me they would never be coming back.

A buddy of mine is an insurance agent and he explained the ins and outs of professional vs. amateur status when it comes to insurance. One thing he told me is if the equipment is stolen from my house or my personal vehicle, it should be covered under your homeowner's. The professional insurance is more for when the gear is on stage, at an airport, being moved by careless roadies, when someone gets hurt by it during a performance, etc.

Never forget that the agent and company's primary goal is to pay as little as possible. YOU NEED TO ESCALATE THIS and fight it. I've had countless claims denied by my previous company that I fought and eventually got paid for.

Escalate it, keep following through. It really sucks being the victim here, but try to gather up some energy and fight for it. Perhaps you also have a local news channel that covers consumer protection type stories. Nothing like bad press to get even the powers that be motivated.

That's really terrible news, I'm really sorry to hear that's happened.

At the very least, perhaps someone from Korg can help transfer your licenses across to the new Kronos.

I'm really sorry man, that totally sucks. Do try to find the Kronos serial. Who knows, it might turn up somewhere.
