Did you guys back up your patterns before updating? Wondering if that's necessary

I didn't back up. I don't think the upgrade threatens the pattern memory, different chip. And the upgrade is pretty failsafe. If it does not load correctly and verify, it won't flash the OS.

And if you somehow impossibly manage to brick your tribe, a pattern backup is the least of your worries. You won't have a working machine to load it onto.

When I'm careless and nothing bad happens, I get one point. I cash these points in for Cool at the end of the year. Aiming to become a level 2 Fonzie by the holidays.

OK updated...clicking seems mitigated...have to check things out more....confirmed that in step edit you can use shift with velocity and gate time, which is great...pattern changes seem a bit better....haven't messed with ifx and mfx tails yet so not sure there....to me whats huge is the shift+pad no longer activates mute!!!!!

I think with the new OS, the electribe 2 just went from being acceptably functional to being very good indeed. Nearly there.

I'd still like to see improved filter behavior (less volume drop on resonance as it increases pitch) and a shift parameter added to the insert effects (distortion NEEDS a post-gain control, short delay NEEDS a way to get more wet signal and needs to use all 128 steps for rate increments, everything would benefit from more control.)

If a few more improvements are made to the voice side, and we eventually get real arp behavior, I'd say it would have fulfilled its potential and then any gripes are more on the user. It's pretty close!

Sounds like a great update! Can anyone confirm if I have patch 3 selected that patch 3 will be the selected patch when I recall the pattern? I believe it was previously defaulting to patch 1 after pattern change.

Edit... I ment part not patch.....sorry 4am

I almost sold my Electribe yesterday. But now I'm glad I didn't!
I was seriously getting annoyed at Korg for the lack of info (or any info at all) to tell if they were working on a new firmware for the Electribe, or if they'd just given it up! But it seems they're actually listening... :o

Wait, what does this line mean:

"Audio Export" function exports stereo .wav file"

Surely this isn't the event recorder files they're referring to, is it? The thing I have been bitching about on here?

I think it exports a pattern or pattern set as a single .wav file :D
It's a better way than recording stuff from the line out quality wise. And it may also render stuff from the line-in like it does when exporting to Ableton.
