Not mine, just ran across this on Reddit thought some people might be interested in some more internal pics and specs.

Warning: Graphic images of electronic internals. Young robots may need to leave the room.
I actually use this the same way with my iConnectAudio4+. Sold the iConnectMIDI4+ and bought a bunch of iConnect mio connected to a powered USB hub for my Din based machines. electribe2 makes a freaking fantastic sequencer. IMO the only thing that competes with it is the BeatStep Pro. Have that one too and enjoy them both.

Does this mean we can now say categorically that the unit has enough power to do all that people want it to do?

The processors seem beefy. But it's all about the tasks they're running. Efficient and clever code with some processor headroom? I'd guess not. My e2 feels like it's running in the red if I get too much percussion going along side some chords. On the upside: It sounds clean and hi-def.
I bet you could run 16 concurrent instances of an ER-1 on the e2's chips.

Don't you find the 1/16 resolution limiting at all?Steinberger wrote:Warning: Graphic images of electronic internals. Young robots may need to leave the room.

The beatstep has all the way up to 128 right? Plus more variation for shuffle timing.
I'm trying to decide between the Es2 or a beatstep pro for sequencing a bunch of gear through an iconnect.

@Buska I think it depends if you're doing CV/Gate and/or MIDI.
I don't find the beat resolution limiting. You get 64 steps max on both machines so no difference there.
BSP having 2 mono sequencers, one drum sequencer which is specific to a single type of drum map and then a controller mode.
electribe2 having 16 polyphonic sequencers.
Both are flexible in different ways. Even with some bugs there's nothing like the BSP on the market for CV/Gate. A BSP coupled with a SQ-1 for additional modulation is more flexible than anyone deserves. electribe2 for MIDI is a sleeping giant as far as I'm concerned. I don't think we've seen enough examples of tricks you can do with it.

@Steinberger
Yeah I'm only using midi.
The poly on the electribe is dope. I had the E2 but sold it and one reason was lack of shift on steps. I like to make sloppy low tempo hiphop stuff.
The BSP has the advantage of the timing step change to create lengthy seq out of those 64 steps by slowing it to 1/8 or 1/4.
I'm now thinking the combination of the two could be the best route, just buy them both over the next few months.
I do miss the self contained E2, it was a fun jamming tool. The ES2 I can imagine is only better for this because of samples (for what I do).
I guess I can sync them via the sync port which is a nice little bonus.
I really like your approach of outlining a track on the E2 then replacing parts with midi synths when the time comes, great workflow.
I would like to get a monotribe, v2 can be seq with cv/gate so I might get one at the same time as the BSP.
I have a few rack/desktop samplers & synths as well as a huge amount of iPad synths that are nearly all midi controllable.
Thanks for giving me a reason to spent more cash on gear :p I think it will be a great little hands-on setup
