It mentions the 76 coming with a hard drive. If it's not an SSD, then it will at the very least be a 500 GB.

76 key comes with 500 gig hard drive pre installed. Both 61 qnd 76 have a micro sd card slot for inserting your own sd card. In some regions it may come with an sd card pre installed with some style and sounds for that specific region on it. The 61 key version does not have a hard drive and you have to buy the special kit from korg to be able to install a hard drive.

It indeed says 500GB HD
Also says 5.1 GB PCM memmory build in..

No word on possible compression options doubling the memmory capacity

Number of sounds, styles, effects and free memmory available for user samples still seems not certain yet.. I hope they can expand those 400MB, because witouth compression everyting under 1 GB would be dissapointing..

Since it is a workstation having room for own sounds is hugely important.

Anyone else notice that there is an empty MicroSD card slot hidden behind a door on the back where the Clock Battery is located. A Card inserted here expands the Internal Memory storage.

This can also store resources.

So, and I'm just guessing from this point onwards, this sounds a lot like how the KROME works. On the KROME you could insert a card that expanded the workstations memory with new sound libraries and so on. Which was hacked pretty quickly so people could load their own samples onto it.

Just saying......

Sharp.

James , this works as in Pa600/900/Le series , only as Data Storage since any custom PCM must
be preloaded in Ram , so in every case 0,4 GB Ram will always be the max. ext. PCM loading limit !

Try telling that to KROME owners. The KROME doesn't even have a Sampler at all, yet people developed a tool to load samples into it.

The Quick Guide for the Pa4X makes reference to the fact that the distributor may ship a Pa4X with a Card installed that contains Resources. Resources the Pa4X loads on bootup, and so you should contact your dealer before removing it.

Cromatool converts KSC to META.IMG (factory Bin files that Kronos also uses) but Ram always
participate in any loading case .
In Kronos the used Ram is the pre-loading attack portion of samples , in PaSeries the whole size
of any extra Bin/PCM file will be dropped into Ram , consuming valuable user Ram space.

German website says: "streaming technology enables on-the-fly processing of enourmous data amount".

Now it's getting interesting, just wondered what the 500GB HDD is for...
What about streaming of user sounds?

Translated from a German Retailer.

************

The completely new EDS-X sound engine delivers unprecedented realism and highly detailed sound, while it uses the tenfold PCM resources of its predecessors by advanced streaming technology.

************

Regards
Sharp.

PS... when the KRONOS was originally launched, end user could NOT stream their own Samples. The feature was only added later in an OS update.

If this is true - Korg should mention it in their specs. Too bad to keep loyal customers like us in the dark..

Korg should mention it in their specs.
Eventually we will have ALL the finer details, manuals, software, options etc…
Korg haven't got there yet - just a QS guide, an overview spec sheet and a "tasting" of basic intro video clips.

I am keen to see the details too…. they're coming…. :D

Hi all

im staring to get the feeling that this is going to be a mega beast as Korg is teasing with the small improvements.

i think that the lower models will get the necessary software upgrades where possible but there will be some huge capabilities which only 4x can deliver due to hardware advancements.

We will know shortly
