Getting Zero Sound - I know my headphones work though

Post by dcconnolly »

I just plugged in my M50 but I have absolutely zero sound playing back (nothing in combi, sequence, etc.). Is it possible I turned something off internally? I've been trying to sync to my DAW and I know my headphones are working fine. Does this need a repair??

Check the Global > MIDI > Local Control setting. If it is turned off, the keyboard will make no sound unless you are connected to a computer DAW program echoing the MIDI data.

This often is a source of confusion, because you set it like that (or sometimes DAW programs actually change the setting in your keyboard for you), then you come back a few days later without the computer program running and it seems the keyboard is silent. Check it out!
