After months following this forum, I finally decided to join last week - on friday 9. I was glad to see someone had posted a link to a Legowelt video and added my two cents to the discussion. That was my first comment ever on this forum.

Five days later, I come back to find xr1st declaring Legowelt is not a "musician", just a "collector". Wow! And then he doubles down with this:

The Synth and DrumMachine of his collection, were used to make the history of music!
In his hands they have not produced anything important, no hit, no important collaborations.. and his music is boring metronome!
I am sure that in this forum too, there are much more talented users of him

I think that you should read better his wikipedia page ....
Though I'd love to hear what you've done with your collection of Electribe gear & such, I wonder when making "hits" has become a requirement for being considered as a musician. And since you don't seem to have any hit yourself, what does it make you.

FWI: can we focus on the positive and refrain from talking negatively about people who are not on this forum?
nice try mate!

Well said. Like him or not, he has released an inordinate amount of material. He plays live sets to busy crowds who seem to like what he does and seems to make a nice living from doing it. Good luck to him ?

He is kind of hyper-prolific. In some interview, he said he stopped using reel-to-reel tape because he makes like ten tracks a week and it was too expensive. Those ten tracks are probably under 5 different names thou. The other thing I love about him is he will use anything. He made an entire album (the rise and fall of manual noriaga) with just a yamaha qy100, and its quite listenable.
