Electribe Sampler (black) import sample from SD Card

Post by neoureaux »

Hello! I formatted SD card in Electribe Sampler. When I go to Data Utility/Import Sample I see the folders (Korg, Sample, System). After I imported .wav files from computer on SD card, after restart Electribe, I go to Data Utility/ Import sample and it says: "no file". What I am doing wrong? I tried to put .wav files direct in the root of the card, in "Korg" folder or in "sample" folder, but no results. I'm using a SDHC 32GB card class 10. I converted .wav files, tried everything but doesn't work.

Enyone can help me in this problem? Thanks!

It's a little counterintuitive.

You assume since you've imported the sample and even kept the wav files on the card, those samples are going to "stay" in the sampler after you power down.

This is not how the electribe sampler handles sampler data. It has nothing to do with the wav files, once you've imported them.

You've missed a step.

The answer you seek is clearly explained in the manual.

Thanks for your answer. I read the manual very carefully and found only this information:
"WAV files saved on a memory card can be imported into the electribe sampler as samples".

I missed something and I don't know what. Sorry! I'm new user of ES.

My new question is: Can I import .wav samples loaded from computer on SD card and then use this with Electribe Sampler (and if this is possible, how can I do this) or I can use just wave files exported from Electribe first on SD and then imported?

1. You can sample directly by recording into the unit.

2. You can import wav files from a card, one at a time.

Once you have the samples imported, you need to:
User Manual, Page 17, Section 4: Export ALL SAMPLE: Writes all samples saved in the electribe sampler to the memory card as “all sample data.” The “all sample data” written to the memory card will automatically be loaded the next time the electribe sampler starts, returning it to the state prior to power-off.

“All sample data” on the memory card is automatically loaded at start-up. Since all samples saved in the electribe sampler will be overwritten, take care not to inadvertently change the samples, for example if you swapped memory cards.
Exporting all samples creates an e2sSample.all file. It's this file that loads when you power up. If this file is missing or blank, no samples.

You can even use an editor to populate a file containing all your samples, loop points, header data, etc. Beats importing one at a time.

User Manual, Page 17, Section 3
Even if you press the Write button to save your edited content, the user samples are erased when you turn off the power. If you want to keep the user samples, use the DATA utility menu command EXPORT ALL SAMPLE or EXPORT SAMPLE to write the sample data to a memory card before you turn off the power.

Finally found the answer :)
The .WAV files must be loaded on SD card in new created folder.
I loaded them in "Korg" folder.

sorry for hijacking but my question fits quite nicely!

how long does it take the Sampler to boot and load this file containing all samples?
i read some complaints about this taking ages...

This is highly dependent from the sd card. My experience: The older the sd card is, the faster the samples will load. When using a 2 GB sd card full with samples, my E2S needs approx. 60 sec to boot. If use a 16 GB high speed sd card instead, the boot time is increased to 90 sec.

Brakio editor for mac doesn't work

Post by michaelmoore83 »

Hi, The editor looked great, but after putting a few of my own samples in my .all file and putting the card back in the sampler, the sampler gave me a "format error". Also on mac, scrolling with two fingers and not using the scroll bar on the right would consistency cause the app to crash. Looks like I'm going to have to buy the app in the app store that might even have less features than this, but probably actually works. .

Did you format the SD card in the Electribe? Do not format on the mac and expecting the Electribe to read it.

Yes, I formatted the card first using the sampler and verified it works prior to proving the software wasn't working. I did buy the app from the App Store and it worked perfect. Makss life much easier. Korg should really have put out their own editor with more features, but for now this is better than trying to edit my library on the sampler itself.

If you are speaking of my editor, It would be better for the community if you could create Issues on github and details your problems an eventually provide zip with example wav and e2s.all files. I bought a Mac just to be able to build Mac releases, but it is not my main computer, so I do not test a lot on it. If you want to have a free editor working, contribute for it...
