Seems brilliant.
Fixes nothing.
Adds nothing.
I'd wager that was worth every day of the wait.

It actually adds one pretty nice thing (and the E2S update also):

The "18/19 PTN. CHANGE LOCK" probably allows blocking pattern change - good when working on a pattern, and not wanting to risk deleting all changes by accidentally switching pattern.

Previous to this update, shift+pad 6 was the shortcut to the gate arp pattern select page. So now we have a choice of shortcuts? Or is there an exciting new world awaiting us under shift+pad 6?!?!?
If I'm not listening to music, or if I'm not making music, then I'm probably thinking about music.

Volca Sample, FM, Beats, Kick. OP-1, Monologue, Pocket Operators. And an ipad.

Nope. It's still on pad 6 too. Awesome.

I think they may have changed the default step in note length in step edit to 10, but I don't really use step edit so I'm not sure if it was like that before.

So that's 4 months to add 2 pointless shortcuts and possibly do a fix on the scale mode. The crack team of coders must be working on something else.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not really bothered, I like mine as is, but I'd rather they didn't dangle the carrot of update in front of us and then give us this.

As if you'd need that once you learn how to handle the machine. It's just going to slow you down.

Anybody notice anything different on the touchpad behaviour? It would be good if it quantized your first touch in line with the sequencer (I'm at work right now sans electribe)...

From first impressions though, that is one embarrassing upgrade...

Waiting to see if the firmware hack still works with this firmware version.

It could be they just released a firmware with bullshit fixes/features like these and something to block OS switching..

The only thing I can think, and I don't really use step edit, is that the gate length changes by a default 10 and by 1 when you press shift.

Seems to be really hard to get a gate arp to play out of time on the touch pad.
Also a bit of a bigger gap between notes in a scale, maybe.

Risky.... in case the firmware hack block introduces other performance issues.
I wonder how bothered they are about the hack? I'm not sure how many people this will dissuade from buying a synth and sampler? It may be that a certain proportion of people going ahead with the hack would actually never buy the two machines anyway and so just because they've hacked a machine doesn't mean Korg lost any money.
Just speculating anyway - i haven't got a clue. I've got no real urge to hack my sampler to a synth... i have enough synths anyway (hardware and software) but had no sampler.
Korg MonoPoly, APC 20, Ableton Live, NI Massive, Bass Station rack.
