TR61 - Cannot Format SD Card - Advice Accepted!!!

Post by RayJCanPlay1 »

I have been after the manual for a couple hours, tried this and that but just cannot get the machine to recognize a new SD card so I can format it...(I have a TR61).

Would certainly welcome advice...?

I have the LE not the TR they are similar so hopefully you can format like this

Press MEDIA -> UTILITY (F8 ) -> Scroll to right with right arrow then down to Format

Hope that helps

Hello,

I am having a similiar problem...i have tried to format couple SD cards, 8GB, 4GB and when i go to the format option in utility all it gives me is the "set date/time"...all the other options including formating are faintly greyed out so you can't see what they say or access them. Also when i do click F8 for OK to access set date/time..it just boots me out? Any suggestions..i just bought the korg 2 weeks ago. Barely been used.

Thank you

I found a 512mb SD card and it accepted it and formatted the card. Cannot use anything larger than 1gb or it will not recognize it. I wish I knew someone who was expert on a KROSS synth ... I'd gladly pay for a tutor on that one.

So the problem is the size of SD then? What about 2GB? Is 1GB the absolute hightest number it will recognize?

Thanks

Ahh sorry, misunderstood, I thought you wanted instructions on how to format.

BTW you can get the TR manuals here by the looks:

http://i.korg.com/SupportPage.aspx?productid=191

Now according to the manual I just read, you can have a smartmedia card up to 1GB in size (big improvement on my old LE, that can only support 128mb lol)

Additionally as these are old machines you may have oxidizing on the contacts, I suffered this a while back. I cured mine by reinserting the card several times until it started working again, although some form of proper cleaning would be a better option for sure.
