Volca sample - check firmware and set n. of voices

Post by mdarcangelo »

Hi, I just bought the volca sample and trying to understand which firmware does it actually have AND most important, is there any setting / combo to reduce the number of active voices ( I understand it has 8 voices ) to gain a sort of monophonic drum machine were each sample played cut the other one out? ( similar to the choke feature on LIVE ), sorry sound like a noob question...well...it is.. ; )

no there is no universal choke feature that i know of, aside from parts 10 choking part 9 which is designed for open and closed hi-hats (but can of course be used for whatever).

you could do the same thing manually pretty easy by motion recording and adjusting the end point of each sample/step to cut off where you want, it's a sharp cut.

not sure how to check the firmware, it's straightforward to update so may as well just run the update anyway.
