My question,in many years i did not see some of you guys charing anything, like, videos, Set,s and so, WHY upgrade?
You are not making samples, no styles and you seems to LOVE the 3 X!
What is you,r Upgrade reason.
Just wonder.

Hi Asena
I know how much emphasis you have always placed and needed regarding sampling.
To answer your question, you would would need to create a detailed list of "differences" between the 2 manuals (PA3 & 4).
That would be your answer.
We have different needs and therefor any number of changes and new features could determine a decision to upgrade.
Cheers
Pete

Most people upgrade to get newer sounds, newer styles, and a few newer features that make a significant improvement to workflow.Asena wrote:My question,in many years i did not see some of you guys charing anything, like, videos, Set,s and so, WHY upgrade?

I'd say that direct access to ANY style or SMF regardless of whether you have it currently loaded would be something major... For the Chord Sequencer users, having one pre-loaded in a Songbook entry would be a huge improvement. It sounds like the new Guitar Mode may be an audible improvement. Oh, and a touch screen that actually responds well to touch (the PA3X's is the worst one I have tried so far) might be something worth getting!
There are many other seemingly small improvements that could be quite a game-changer for a lot of people.
Not EVERYONE'S arranger experience revolves SOLELY around user created content!

display calibration
You can calibrate by pressing and holding GLOBAL key for 2 seconds.

Compressed PA3X samples are being UNCOMPRESSED while loading in PA4X.Paolo@Korg wrote:Yes, you are right, there is a mistake in the early documentation. The updated line should read as follows:korgpask wrote:• Compressed User Samples are not loaded.
I installed a backup from Korg Pa3X to Korg Pa4X compressed wav sounds and Pa4X them, working properly and play OK.
• Compressed User Samples exceeding about 200 MB (400 MB uncompressed or ‘linear’) are not loaded.
Paolo
However, LOOPED samples get a random WRONG-BAD playback issue.
It seems that uncompressong code section has some work to do yet...
One-shoot samples sound just fine.

Pa4X has Fantastic New Factory Samples and Fabulous 24bit DAC.Asena wrote:My question,in many years i did not see some of you guys charing anything, like, videos, Set,s and so, WHY upgrade?

So these 2 are a good reason to upgrade.
But then all hell brakes loose regarding software changes- mostly going backwards andd making things more diffficult...

Re: missing grouped sliders, autoselect sound, fill-mode
Why fill mode was important? The answer you will find in below movie.siebenhirter wrote:*Paolo@Korg wrote: .. *grouped Style tracks are now a global offset
.. * Auto Sound Select function no longer exists, since there are no SOUND buttons
.. * Fill Mode is now replaced by the smarter Auto Fill Mode
In style-mode AUTO SELECT SOUND had enabled to change sounds of drum/bass for recent running styles without changing STS or styles but with direct-access of simple pressing one (sound-)buttons. Now there is no feature to change style-track-sounds of recent style in direct-access.
*
FILL MODE replaced by the Auto Fill is not smarter, because with fill-mode one did not need to select variations during fill, since variation was preselected by parameters that already were recalled automatically at the end of selected fill.
Using numerous parameters for old fill-mode (V1&V2 … V3&V4, Var.Up/Var.Down, Var.Inc/Var.Dec, To Var.1…To Var.4, FillMode-Lock/unlock) one offers some more smarter variations. To get Auto-Fill-Mode smart means to expand preselection-parameters for each fill-button individually.
*
It is good to have furtheron adjustment of GROUPED STYLE VOLUME - but to be changed in Global > Mode Preferences > Style page is not so comfortable as it was in main page of style play
