Disable effects on usb audio input

Sorry if I am asking a question that is in the manuals but I cannot find a fix for this anywhere.

I need to audition patches and combos before I add to a seq and I need to play audio in using USB from the computer.

Problem I have is that the effects and volume of the audio keeps changing when I switch sounds. Is there a global way to prevent the effects affecting the audio in. I can see the global sliders for volume and this works but all the effects knobs above the sliders are set to off.

Help please.
