What are your favorite Kronos pianos?

You are not alone.
There are at least three of us that like it……you,me and Jordan himself….
I have several versions with different tweaks and eq settings, "to taste".
It did take a while before achieving the preferred results, but worth the effort.

I didn't really like the Japanese at first glance and loved the German so much that I have kind of ignored it. Perhaps it's worth another visit and a round of tweaking. The Yamaha C7 (or even C6) is one of my favorite real grands, I remember thinking it strange that I didn't like the Japanese Grand much.

For me I prefer the German dark grand sound but it really does depend on what I'm playing. The Japanese and Jordan Japanese cut through a dense mix live better but if it's just a solo piano section, that's when I go for the German piano.
If music is the food of love, play on and play loud!
Gear: Kronos 73, Wavestation EX, Polysix, King Korg, Monotron and Monotron Duo, Minikorg, Moog Grandmother, my very old MiniKorg, 4 acoustic and 9 electric guitars, 1 Ibanez 5 string bass, a Steel guitar, a bunch of microphones, 2 pairs of studio monitors and other very cool toys, 1 wife and 4 cats and a lava lamp!

Reviving this thread from 3+ years ago because I've been fiddling with the piano programs lately, trying to find one that I like for rock or jazz band gigs.
It depends SO much on the monitor system I am using!
Right now I'm trying to tweak sounds for my Centerpoint Space Station 3 + Behringer sub. I find myself coming back to the "Stereo Boesy" program that no one mentioned in this thread. The others seem thin in comparison. But for any of them I have to add an EQ IFX and cut some of the mids.
But I feel like it is lacking dynamics. Maybe I'm just spoiled by Ivory?

I might be the only one on the planet who is not impressed pairing the SS3 with Kronos pianos. It sounds good but not greatXenophile wrote:Reviving this thread from 3+ years ago because I've been fiddling with the piano programs lately, trying to find one that I like for rock or jazz band gigs.

You're not the only one! The midrange sounds awful without considerable tweaking. It also seems to get driven to distortion at relatively low volume on a rock stage.GregC wrote:I might be the only one on the planet who is not impressed pairing the SS3 with Kronos pianos. It sounds good but not great
