USB midi sync between KP3 and Fruity Loops?

Hi,

My KP3 and FL are connected.
I followed intsructions:

But I don't understand how to sync bpm between FL and KP3. Youtube-video says (starts from 2:31) "The midi sync automatically sync the BPM of the Kaoss Pad to the same of FL Studio"
..but this doesn't happen.

Is it even possible to sync BPM by using USB, or should there be midi in and out in use?
