I had this happen to me a couple of times. No error codes. Just freezing.
That happened when I tried to load a style from a PA3X. All I did unplugged power and recycled the power. Not much you can do.
In your case, you may had something on the USB that was not recognized by the system.
The best way to avoid this is to have the PA900 format your USB drive before you store data on it.
I never had a problem with a USB drive and I plug/unplug it while the 900 is on.
Just my 2 cents on this issue.

Thanks for sharing the experience!
I really love my Korg PA. But this issue is bothering me a lot. I was wondering if I reload OS, will it help!
Is there any way I can format the SSD/ internal memory - could there be an error on SSD?

It won't hurt to reload the OS. I had to this twice myself when it came out.
Just make sure you do it exactly the way it is explained.
What do you have to loose. I love my PA900 also.
Also what you may can do is pay a little bit more attention on what you were doing when the freezing occurred.

Sure I will try.... Just few more advice I need. I downloaded the Installer and factory reset for OS 1.20.
what I got is :
Pa900_Factory_Reset_v120.ZIP dated 30-NOV-2015 , 499.9 MB
Pa900_Operating_System_v120.ZIP dated 30-NOV-2015 , 67.9 MB
~~ Question is, shall I try Factory reset or Operating system load. Is there any more latest-greatest after this version - as you already tried.
Also I have got PA manager software. Do you think this is a good idea to create my master-pack, including all samples, styles etc. using the PA manager and then use that only- basically discarding unwanteds. Is it a good idea? ~ I am still very new to KORG.

Yes, OS 1.2 is the latest that I know.
I have never used factory reset file, so I cannot say. I usually make a master backup of everything I have on the Keyboard (Styles, sounds, etc.)
before I do the upgrade.
As far as PA Manager, I have never used it. So I won't be much of help there. Since you have installed OS 1.2 already, you can try to do a factory reset 1.20. I cannot tell you what the result will be. There are different opinions on this forum about this.
Do a search for PA900 OS 1.20 Upgrade.
Hope you can solve your problem.
