Actually, the more I mess about with this MC909 the more I see it as the be-all and end-all of grooveboxen. I would love to see the RS7000 paired up with it.. The Octa does some sweet stuff, but honestly I think the sampler on this this is crazy and 128-note poly seals the deal.thesigma wrote:Yamaha RS 7000 was the last great battleship groove box, and it's the size of one too....
Is the electribe sampler a bad joke?

That may be true I've not had the pleasure of using one yet. We'll have to get them together soon.sauce wrote:Actually, the more I mess about with this MC909 the more I see it as the be-all and end-all of grooveboxen. Not to keep beating a dead horse, but "watching a few videos on youtube to get a sense of the products limits" is exactly what I did initially. But those didn't prepare me for the kinds of shortcomings I discovered after owning the unit.jpeg wrote: nothing wrong with alerting people of faults found but also alert people about ur failed research which is simple as watching a few videos on youtube to get a sense of the products limits and features
It's not like Korg is advertising their products' flaws and less positive attributes, and there seems to be a lot of confusion surrounding the very issues I brought up initially in this thread.
fair enough, hopefully u still are within ur 30 days return limitaxs wrote:Not to keep beating a dead horse, but "watching a few videos on youtube to get a sense of the products limits" is exactly what I did initially. I couldn't get cheap eBay Lightning adapter for irig midi to work on iPad Air 2
not going to risk official Apple one at £20.
Put irig midi on gumtree £25 if anyone is interested. Works well on iPad 2
Any recommendations? I want something cheap and effective, must have midi (and audio possibly). It's for small studio of 3 groove boxes and iPad Air 2 and will probably just midi into gadget....
Going to do some research

Yes, Gadget and iElectribe are working nice with Link, but external gear is still a problem. But: maybe this will be a gamechanger http://alexandernaut.com/linktomidi/ it seems very promising! edit: wow, it's released now - will check it..jbvdb493 wrote:So far tho I am running gadget and ielectribe via ableton link and am pretty happy with it, now if I could get animoog in there somehow, sync that to the electribe I would be king of the hill!
Same here. The only reason why I didn't sell my ES2 is because of my portable setup (with battery support). The "bigger" gear stays at home. But if there is comming something similar like the E2 at the NAMM... Yeah, a small sequencer/sampler, the iPad (with a working Gadget, Nave and Animoog) and my Roland Boutique is a dream. Then going travelling with our omnibus and making music... everywhere!jbvdb493 wrote:Seriously tho the electribe pad and knobs, gadgets sequencer, drum sounds from the ielectribe and synths from animoog, the dream ultra portable setup is so close yet so far!

If you will keep the Electribe then I would just connect it via USB and CCK with the iPad. The E2 is class compliant.markxl1 wrote:Any recommendations?
