Korg KR mini song function

(I am not sure if the KR mini fits in this part of the forum...)

Hi,
I recently bought a KR mini and I couldn't figure how the "Songs" pattern family works (the manual is quite foggy...)

Are the songs some kind of predefined chains? Or can they be modified?
