My hacked E2 is on Ebay

Post by sauce »

My Electribe Sampler with the swappable OS is on Ebay, along with every sample set I have ever made. The price is steep, but with I have a noble cause. It's a very fun little unit despite it's flaws, and I may get another in the future, but I have decided I *must* have an Octatrack. I have a very good opportunity to pick one up, so.. Here goes nothing:

I'll still be working with the ESX, which I will never part with. =)

It's about time you got an OT, you're going to have a lot of fun with that one!

Funny, I was going to get one later this week as well. :)

This is sad that you're selling e2s. I like your vids on youtube.
But maybe you'll make some of them about octatrack and that'll help me with decision to buy one too :D

Interesting. What made you decide to return to it?

Mine's in storage, thinking of selling it. Have an almost min ESX 2015 SD on its way, gonna try that instead, see what it does to me.

The pins on the CF reader broke off in mine and Elektron refused to warranty it even though I was within the warranty period.

Bad on Elektron. Sorry to hear that.

I always thought you left it because it is was it is, beatiful but frustrating. Since I'm on the fence about mine now, it's interesting to share experiences. I've had it for two years and lately, had it as my only piece. Much as I love what it can do, I'm finding out that there are other things I want more than what the Octatrack can do - if I want to stay in a slim, almost minimal, rig.

I never really found it frustrating myself, it's deep, but that's part of the appeal too. Lots of options for customizing the workflow to fit what you're trying to do.

I've been thinking to sell my E2S too. It's been collecting more dust than my EMX.

Yeah, it's unbelivable. Korg offers a better update support for their "cheap" iPad apps (almost no bugs + many new and huge features) ... than in a hardware piece like the Electribe. Strange.

If the Octatrack could run with batterys, I also would immediately sell my ES2 and buy an Octa. But for home use I'm happy with Ableton + Push.

I'm done with mine too. Complete joke of a machine. Another week and I'll have an octa.

I was thinking of selling both units as I dont use them often; but every time I do I come up with something good very quickly and they are fun and simple to use.
