E2 Battery Problems

Post by zobbo »

I've googled for this and can't find anything.

I bought some new batteries for my E2 - put them (they were not a budget brand) in and when I switched it on it basically powered straight down. Odd.

So I then tried some rechargeable batteries. This time they showed as fully charged but within a minute they'd gone down to flashing and low battery warnings. However I kept using it for half an hour and it kept going ...

Before posting here I've upgraded to the latest OS from the Korg site and done a factory reset but the problem remains.

It's already gone back to Korg once for a faulty LED - back again for battery issues ? :( What batteries are you guys/gals using ? I'm in the UK - I'll try a set of whatever is recommended and see what happens.

Cheers

in the Global Menu, have you switched the battery type from Alkaline to Ni-Mh?

New rechargeables take some charges/discharges before they get to full capacity. Use 2400 mA/h ones. I use Duracells (green body)

The low battery warning symbol is VERY misleading. Like yours, mine goes to Low Battery warning after maybe two hours. But then i can get another two hours battery life EASY before it switches off.

I've been meaning to do some battery life tests for a while now, think i'll do some soon.

If I'm not listening to music, or if I'm not making music, then I'm probably thinking about music.

Volca Sample, FM, Beats, Kick. OP-1, Monologue, Pocket Operators. And an ipad.

Many thanks for the info. Yes - I'd tried changing the battery type but same issue. I will try some more cycles on the rechargeable and maybe pick up some Duracell non rechargeables today and see what transpires.

Once again thanks for the feedback, much appreciated

A full charged battery set that becomes empty within few minutes is a clear sign of an hardware defect. Maybe a short circuit ...

I recommand Sanyo Eneloop batteries. They are by far the best batteries on the market. I use them with my speedlight flashes, and with the electribe, plenty of power.

batteries

Post by lupo17 »

hi all... i don't know if it's been discussed or no...
this machine (electribe2s) could recharge the batteries when pluged in ?

...it would be very much comfortable this way...
i mean...the reason for those batteries is portability...right?
so...beside the machine and its wall adapter, you supposed to carry the recharger as well...not to mention the fuzz of putting out, recharge externally, realign back in...and nevertheless...there is no recharger with 6 slots...

I doubt very much that has been implemented but it would be awesome if it has. I am going to test this out.
