Question concerning M3m, owners !!

Post by ErnstDabest »

I'd like to know, how is the M3 module receiving data from the keyboard chassis ?..
Is it a wireless transmission outov the M3's own keybed or is it done thru midi connection ?

.... :?

Hi, there is a custom 9-pin mini-DIN cable that carries data from the keyboard chassis to the module, and also powers the keyboard.

Thanks, Mike.. because of the cable connection how do you find the sonic response ?
Is it lightning fast or slow to the point where one would need to change his playing-style ?

I find the response speed and touch are excellent. I think many people would agree that the M3 has one of the best synth action keybeds there is. The electronic architecture is exactly the same as if the keybed were internal, so I struggle to see why anyone would have a concern with speed.
When playing Hammond one-note trills, the limiting factor on speed is the mechanics of the key (contact height and return speed) rather than the electronics.

e-bay is a good source.

if you have talent on electronics repair even try broken units or units with issues.
digitizer parts are on e-bay for low cost.
if you are not in to the used thing, the kronos is cool.
sweetwater has them and they do a 2 year warranty.
