Syncing multiple brands of hardware

Post by Chasesmix »

I'll keep it simple. I now own 4 Volca units. I want to buy more of different synths of different makes and models. I cannot find online any explanation diagram forum thread or otherwise of a way to sync up the tempos or 'clock' of different hardware units. Volcas use a sync cable, suppose I want to use a Roland Tr-8with the volcas in sync, how do I bridge the gap?

Syncing midi clock into volca from dave smith tetra:

Post by raygun »

hi guys,
i tried holding down the function button then turning on the volca and hitting pad 6 to let the external midi sync, but no luck.

any advice on how to do this? (wanting to sync my volca from the tetra)

thanks in advance,
brandon

you dont need to change options. you might need to activate midi clock out on your tetra and you might want to change midi channel of your volca accordingly. (memory button while switching on, then select channel, then REC)
