Upgrading from a PA900

Post by natasha »

Hi all,

I am now ready for my next PA and have decided to move on to the 4X.

Here are a few questions if anyone can help me with please:

1. Are the keys less "plasticky"?
2. Can I transfer my set easily? If not, what's the process?
3. Is it lighter than the PA900?

Thank you.

Hello!
Nice move to go to a pa4x!
It is a huge upgrade!
1)The keys are semi weighted way better than the pa900 ones and are like the pa3x ones! (to me they feel even a bit better)!
2)The set is not just LOAD ALL , you need to load each folder of the set one by one and some setup may be needed to make it sound ok and way better than the 900!
3)Lighter i wouldn't say it....It is heavier because it is full metal build and not plastic as the pa900!

thank you !

if I send you a sound, could you try to load it onto your 4X at all and see if it works? I mainly have .kmp files in my sound section and then i layered them in performance.

Unfortunately i don't have a pa4x..!
I had borrowed a friends one some weeks ago to test it inside out!
Kmp files are loaded the same way for sure!So no problem there!
You can also load the .set folder but not the usual way (LOAD ALL).
You will need to press OPEN on the xxx.SET folder and load one by one the folders inside!
You may only need to tweak the effects a bit of the old SOUND and PERFORMANCE (which is now called KEYBOARD SET)!
