Volca Bass midi in.

Hi all,
I have a volca bass, its ok, but I cant get it to receive any midi notes.
I can get it to sync out of ableton and it will recieve a clock out of traktor.
But I really need it to receive notes, fom cubase or from ableton. Preferably Cubase.

I have checked midi channel is 1 and looks like it is set to 1 from cubase.
and i started and #6 is lit on volca when i start holding down function.

that is where i am at right now.

incidentally it did recieve midi notes when i first got it, but now it doesnt.
so its probably my fault.

Did you check what MIDI channel the volca is set to?

Hold MEMORY while starting the Volca up, if it doesn't say 1 on display, press the key 1 and then the Record button to save the setting.

Yep, both cubase and the volca bass read as channel 1.

Have you tried to create a region with the pencil and trigger the Volca with the piano roll?

Have you tried MIDI OX or another MIDI monitor program to see if the notes are being originated from Cubase okay?

Have you tried directly connecting a controller to the volca?

thanks for comments and suggestions...

turns out, that the factory reset (which should have only reset the patterns and not the actual midi in settings) has fixed this problem.

man, this had been vexing me for some time i was considering burning the machine. or returning it.

so, in conclusion, im not sure what i did to cause this, or how it fixed either.
