Feeding your ES2 with an iPad

Post by tsutek »

Hi,

sorry, didn't search before posting to see if this has been discussed already, but I think I have found out a way to feed your es2 with just an iPad.

I got a Kingston MobileLite G3 wireless USB storage gizmo for my iPad yesterday, and it also happens to have SD card support. But much to my surprise, it seems to be able to read and write es2 formatted SD cards! I was able to render wavs out from my Gadget app into the audioshare app, trim, normalize and uploaded to the es2 sd card, and it is working perfectly!

Just a quick tip to yall who hate their laptops/desktops and love their iOS gizmos more 8)

Well, the way I see it, neither the iPad nor the e2s offer any desirable "mojo" to any sound that passes through their converters, so I prefer skipping the redundant DA/AD conversions altogether.

Besides, having access to the SD card also gives access to the sequence data, project backups etc

Not to mention doing all your sample preparation on a touchscreen. Ipads are fantastic for this. Just wish you could access an SD card via USB directly with them. Oh well, Apple knows best.... :D
If I'm not listening to music, or if I'm not making music, then I'm probably thinking about music.

Volca Sample, FM, Beats, Kick. OP-1, Monologue, Pocket Operators. And an ipad.
