E2, the four step buttons (the four bars of a pattern)

Post by Korgenstein »

Been racking my brain with this. What I want to be able to do is to start my pattern on the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th Step (bar) and to have that bar loop independently of the others.
Going into the Step Edit menu, and selecting the Step there (either 1, 2, 3, or 4) will allow one to edit in a particular Step (bar) while the sequence is playing, but it's time consuming and tedious to have to listen through the previous Steps in order to be able to edit the desired Step, as one would have to do in Sequencer mode for example.

Is there any way to play each Step (bar) of a pattern independently of the others?

And there must be a "pattern clear" on this thing somewhere! Not 'Clear Sequence,' (only clears one part at a time and it goes across all 4 Steps) not 'Part Erase,' (tedious and inaccurate) but a pattern clear where one could clear each individual Step (bar) of a Pattern independently of the others. For example, "clear pattern 201, step 3" enter. done. While leaving the other 3 Steps (bars) intact.

Anybody know if any of this is possible?

You can use step jump to skip around, but you cant loop.

You can initialize the pattern. Or hit clear sequence, and quickly move thru each part and keep hitting enter (menu will stay on clear sequence).

yes indeed, that's the trouble with Clear Sequence though, it will clear the sequence for the selected Part over all 4 bars, I was hoping for a way to clear a sequence for each bar individually, or ideally, to clear the entire Pattern for each bar individually. Same thing with Initilize, it will reset the entire Pattern, all for bars to the factory setting.
