Excellent metallo They are easy to work with. I am not however even bothered about the 25 I love ti and it travels well!
I think I will go for a 49 at some point but for now I'm good. Need to sell novation slmk2 49 first, also a great controller but I don't even use it. I think I have used it a dozen times and thats it. This Roli I use all the time that in and of itself speaks volumes to me for my needs.
Hey are you going to give the bigwig 8track a try?

Cheers Bertotti.
In fairness I think I will miss the size of the 25 when I travel but I'm a gigging guy and the 49 would be much more of use to me
Yep I think I will give bitwig a try just for curiosity but I love the LOGIC PRO X workflow therefore I can't really see myself using something else...at least not in the short period.

I just got my Roli 49 and it's working great with the Kronos.
Remarkably, I can lay the Roli on top of the Kronos' keyboard with the top just over the left ribbon controller area and a little overlap above the keys and not get any keyboard triggers from the Kronos itself.
I am setting up a few Combinations with the same program on all slots to fully utilize the Rise's poly controller capability. While also editing the programs to respond to poly aftertouch in meaningful ways. The level of available expression is mind blowing!
This really makes me want Korg to sell a Kronos rack. Maybe Musikmesse.

Musikmesse.

I'm with you on this, but afraid that Korg will continue to ignore that, just because they didn't invented MPE and prefer to bundle tradition keybed with every synth engine... and it is also huge investment to redesign everything from scratchmm-pro wrote: This really makes me want Korg to sell a Kronos rack. Roli is running a promotion on the Rise25 - I'm thinking it doesn't sell very well now that the 49 is out. Here's the blurb:
Spring has sprung the best deal that we’ve ever offered, and we wanted you to be the first to know about it! Between now and April 1st, every purchase of a Seaboard RISE 25 comes with a free bundle of cutting-edge software and gear that will help you make incredibly expressive music as soon as you take the Seaboard RISE out of its box. Every instrument now includes licenses for Bitwig Studio and FXpansion Strobe2 - plus a free Flip Case for RISE. That’s a free package worth $600. Save now in our Store.

In the next version of PCG Tools there will be a Combi MPE initializer, which is able to copy for one or more combis, the first timbre (program) to the remainign 15 slots. This seems to be useful for ROLI and other related boards.

Great. I'll have my ROlI Rise 49 in a month or so and I'm really interested in this option.michelkeijzers wrote:In the next version of PCG Tools there will be a Combi MPE initializer, which is able to copy for one or more combis, the first timbre (program) to the remainign 15 slots. As far as I've read Roli set each note to a different MIDI channel dynamically to a max. of 10 notes and you can set the number of channels used.
As many channels you use less possibility to have a note overlapping the channel of a previous note and affecting it if still sounding so one may like to have all channels set to the same program (and IFX to keep consistency) but then you are limited to just one program.
I can see some situations where could be useful to keep them as a COMBI.
i.e. if you are playing a pad with just one hand as chords you could use just 5 MIDI channels and set timbres 2/3/4 to channel 1 with 3 different programs and repeat the pattern with different channels for timbres 5/6/7, 8/9/10, 11/12/13 and 14/15/16 in the way you are effectively working with 3 timbres combinations (or 2-timbre combis and 8 channels, etc)
To have more than one program per MIDI channel (or different transpose, different IFX for each program, etc) would increase sonic palette exponentially.
It would be great if options like copying one timbre (and IFX) to all other timbres or just a subset of timbres plus options to copy a group of timbres to fill the other timbres with the same group could be also available in your tool in future versions.
Kindest regards.
Leo

This is the kind of logic I'd like to see implemented:
1) Set the COMBI/COMBIS from the list you like to modify. Once done a SETTINGS windows should open to set T and N.
2)Set the number of TIMBRES (T) you like to clone (1-8 with 1 by default)
3) Set the number of times it should be cloned (N) from 1 to 15 (Some logic should be applied here for the max. number available as NxT can never exceed the 16 channels). by default N should be de max. number available.
4) Set the first MIDI channel to use from 1 to (16-N) with the MIDI channel set for the first timbre in the group as default.
Then PCG tools should copy the first T timbres and clone N times that group of timbres as blocks keeping all Timbre settings (layering, splits, transpose, IFX structure of the block (even if they are chained). Modify the MIDI channel for the group to be cloned so all of the timbres in the group share the same channel and then in each group cloned increase the MIDI channel by one (all timbres must share same MIDI channel and all groups must have different MIDI channels but consecutive numbers)
I guess KARMA settings should be initialized and MFX could be kept as they were set in the combi.
Some refinement could include the first TIMBRE to begin from (i.e.you could like to keep the first two timbres with global channel to be managed locally and begin cloning from Timbre 3.
Of course Kronos is not the only sound generator that could be used so it would be great to have this implemented in all the supported instruments.
I have no knowledge for programming but If I can help you with anything else (translation to Spanish or whatever) just let me know.
