I am using the PA3X with Cubase 8.5 on Win 7x64. The Korg USB driver seems to disappear whenever I startup, so I have no access to the PA3x. Also, when powering up the PA3x, I get a popup that says the USB device is not recognized. I don't really know if this is a driver problem, a Cubase problem or a problem with my computer.
I guess I could switch to regular wired USB through the midi connections in my my audio interface. But I would really like to know what the problem is.

Windows 7 has always problem with Korg driver.
you can try this:
get latest version from Korg website
http://www.korg.com/us/support/download ... /305/1356/
after you download DrvTools_1_15_r14.exe go to properties (right click and last bottom option), in General Unblock, in Compatibility set to Windows 7 and check Run this program as Administrator, then Apply and OK.
Run program and choose repair option.
After is done unplug usb and plug back on, should work but I can't promise.
Is very possible Windows set drivername as General USB Midi instead Korg pa3x, but should work fine.
Good Luck.

Thanks for the reply, Nemik. The version you linked is the one I have been trying to use. I went through the steps and Korg PA3x shows up in Device Manager under Sound, Video controllers. I then turned off the PA3x and turned it back on, and got the "USB device not recognized" popup. Also, it no longer shows in Device Manager, but there is an "Unknown Device" in the USB list.
Could this have anything to do with host port being USB 1.1? Or is it just Win7? What if I install Win10?
The situation is so frustrating that I think I will have to get some midi cables and forget about the Korg driver.
Thanks again

I can assure you that's not an issue, having more USB devices is not returning error with missing digital signature of driver, unless your USB hub is not install property.Sintie wrote:I got a reply from Korg Canada which explained that Windows has difficulty recognizing more than about 10 devices. I know I have a lot of USBs connected, but will have to wait till I get home to check this.
Anyone with experience in this area, please let me know.

I have seen somewhere on some forum, people talking about Korg USB driver has conflict with Yamaha driver, they suggest uninstall all and delete, then install fresh Korg driver first, then rest USB midi devices driver, ... frankly I didn't try this fix, I am using M-Track Plus as Midi PC interface, which work great with my MIDI Hub MOTU Midi Express XT, but also all my usb midi drivers is works correctly (had to deal a little with Korg driver).
Is easy to find out, just disconnect all and connect only Korg.
I been dealing with USB issues a lot, now I have 2 hub connected 7 +12 and many times I use all 19 connection.

Using many USB devices is only getting risk to excess Bandwidth limitation, if is a lot of traffic thru USB hub is simply crash and show you error message.
here is my USB world

Korg PA Driver
Issue solved!! I moved the Korg from the on-board USB port to a USB port on a PCI card. Everything now works fine. I am guessing it has something to do with the onboard USB 2 and 3, versus the PCI card's USB 1.1. The Korg host is also 1.1.
For those of you who are not aware, note that moving a device from one USB port to another sometimes requires the driver has to be installed for the new port. This applies to the Korg PA3x, and I have seen it elsewhere.
Thanks for all the feedback.
